Pastry biscuits!
. In this picture I am making what I call pastry biscuits. My brother is helping. 🙂
You use shortcrust pastry to make biscuits!
Here is my recipe for shortcrust pastry.
Ingredients:
150g butter
300g plain flour
cold water
Preheat the oven to 180 fan. Put the butter and flour in a bowl. Rub the butter between your fingers until your mixture represents coarse sand. Add the water, about a table spoon at a time. You can add more if needed. When your pastry has come together, leave it to chill in the fridge for about half an hour.
1 egg, beaten
Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to make shapes. Grease a baking tray and put your biscuits on. Beat an egg and egg wash your biscuits. Put them in the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
